Mundus Artium Press, at the University of Texas at Dallas, announced today that Cinzia Demi’s poetry collection, “Il solstizio dei sentieri,” has been awarded the 2024 Orpheus Texts Book of the Year.
The honor recognizes Demi’s literary excellence, profound poetic vision, and insightful exploration of human complexity. Through evocative language, “Il solstizio dei sentieri” reflects deeply on themes of transience, the delicate balance between fate and free will, and the loss of societal values.
Demi’s poetry vividly portrays life’s fleeting beauty and the unsettling journey from childhood innocence to the necessary compromises of adulthood.
Born in Piombino, Italy, in 1960, Cinzia Demi is a respected poet, essayist, and cultural advocate based in Bologna. She holds degrees in Italian Studies and Education from the University of Bologna. Demi currently curates the “Missione Poesia” column for Altritaliani.net and co-directs Edizioni Minerva’s Kleide poetry series.
The Orpheus Texts Award annually celebrates contemporary literature that leaves a lasting impact, and this year highlights Demi’s significant contribution to poetry and cultural dialogue.
